Give the Gift of Vision with Nanodropper’s Global Health Initiative

Mar 10, 2022 | Our Company | 0 comments

Vision is arguably one of the most essential senses for experiencing and enjoying the beautiful world around us. But unfortunately, quality eyecare isn’t always available to those who need it most.

People all over the world—primarily in low- and middle-income countries—are sadly unable to receive treatment for eye conditions that are easily amended with proper medical aid. Whether they lack the money to afford treatment or simply don’t have access to an ophthalmologist in the first place, they are often forced to live with debilitating and otherwise avoidable ocular conditions.

Nanodropper was founded on the idea that good eyecare should be available to everyone, regardless of economic status or geographic location. That’s why we created two charitable programs that fight to give the gift of vision to every pair of eyes on the planet. Read on to see how you can help provide eyecare to someone in need!

What is the Nanodropper Pay-It-Forward Program?

Although we do our best to make the Nanodropper Adaptor accessible to as many people as possible, we understand not everyone will have the means to afford one. Under this acknowledgement, we created the Nanodropper Pay-It-Forward Program to help bypass any financial barriers keeping people from enjoying better control and savings tied to their eye health.

Through the Pay-It-Forward Program, users may purchase Nanodropper Adaptors that act as donations to individuals who are unable to buy one for themselves. This process allows our adaptors to reach more people for healthier eyes across the country, all thanks to the generosity of our donors.

“Healthy eyes are the center of all the work we do,” Nanodropper CCO Mackenzie Andrews said. “It’s the reason why our team came together in the first place. The Nanodropper Pay-It-Forward Program is our way of getting everyone involved so we help those who really need it. We believe money should never come between a patient and their vision!”

Those in need of an adaptor through the Pay-It-Forward Program can fill in this form to become eligible. Simply including your name, contact information, and eye medication description (to ensure compatibility with the Nanodropper Adaptor) is all it takes to be on the receiving end of someone else’s kindness.

What is the Nanodropper Global Vision Partnership?

As we already touched on, many people around the world suffer from eye diseases and visual complications without the ability to receive treatment. In fact, over 1 billion people worldwide carry on through their lives with unaddressed eye and vision problems simply because they have no other choice. Over 90% of those problems can be easily remedied with modern treatments, care access, and appropriate intervention.

Nanodropper has partnered with Unite For Sight to bring the gift of healthier eyes to residents of impoverished and low-income regions throughout Ghana, India, Honduras, and more. We offer the ability for donors to purchase Nanodropper Adaptors at a reduced rate for The Ghana Program, an organization of Unite For Sight volunteers who work with local eye clinics in struggling regions of the country. The workers and local Ghanaian ophthalmologists use Nanodropper Adaptors to extend the lifetimes of their medical eye drops, allowing them to treat roughly 3 times as many patients for every bottle.

Adaptor donations greatly expand the organization’s patient care capabilities, allowing them to help more people than was ever possible before while sustaining their supply of vision-saving drugs for many years to come.

“For eye care professionals who see large volumes of patients each day, the Nanodropper has brought a great relief to us,” said Dr. James Clarke, Unite For Sight Ghana Medical Director. “Attending to an average of 200 patients a day, we’ve been able to economize the use of our diagnostic drops, which is used routinely, in patient examination. We are also excited about the ease with which our supporting staff are able to administer such drops.”

We look forward to helping you get started with confidence!

Why do I need to take the onboarding survey?

By completing this survey, you’ll provide important information about your current medications, such as cost, bottle usage, and side effects.
