Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company Saves You Thousands on Your Meds — Here’s How

Affordable medication has always been an issue in America, especially for many Americans who do not have health insurance, already pay expensive premiums, or opt for plans with high deductibles. This leaves many people skipping out on important treatments to improve their health conditions…simply because the cost is too great.

Many healthcare professionals have tried to deal with this problem for years with varying results, but one recent solution has emerged and caught the attention of patients, doctors, and even the media with its impressive markdown on drug prices.

So what’s the buzz with the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company? Does it really provide patients with big savings on their prescriptions? Can you use it to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars? Let’s check it out!

What is Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company?

Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company was founded under the Mark Cuban business franchise by CEO Dr. Alexander Oshmyansky, a Harvard Medical School graduate with an MD from the Duke University School of Medicine and a PhD from the Oxford University Mathematics Department. He founded Altitude Medical while in grad school, a company that sought to reduce the rates of nosocomial diseases (diseases that are acquired during the process of receiving healthcare) in hospitals and is still going strong. Dr. Oshmyansky still practices as an emergency radiologist.

After cold emailing Mark Cuban, American entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, about his endeavors with another company he was getting off the ground in 2018, Dr. Oshmyansky and Mr. Cuban teamed up to create a business that could bypass the decisions of pharmaceutical benefits managers (PBMs) who preferred to charge exorbitant amounts for medications, giving patients a truly fair price for their prescriptions.

The problem, Mr. Cuban notes, is that it is exceedingly easy to be greedy for money when benefits managers offer good-intentioned medication companies hefty sums to pay along with their rates. Thankfully, Mr. Cuban has stood against these practices in an attempt to give people the affordable drugs they need and deserve.

Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company works by cutting out the middlemen at pharmacies that typically skyrocket their prices and instead delivers the same medication to a patient’s doorstep at a much more reasonable price. The most notable aspect of the Cost Plus Drug Company is their emphasis on transparency, clearly citing every cost that goes into your total price. They reach out directly to manufacturers for the prescriptions needed, ensuring a patient only pays for what is necessary. This means a patient will only pay for the actual cost of the drug (plus a 15% markup to keep the company afloat), a $3 pharmacy fee, and a shipping cost. Nothing more.

While Cost Plus Drug Company does not accept insurance at the time of this article, their prices have been known to be even lower than most prescriptions backed by insurance at the pharmacy. In fact, the savings alone can often lead to thousands of dollars in savings over the course of many treatment regimens — a true lifesaver for many patients on treatment plans!

The company’s online pharmacy launched earlier this year and boasts low costs on hundreds of prescriptions, including huge savings on medications that treat leukemia, gout, ulcerative colitis, and many more.

How Can I Order My Prescription from Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company?

According to the company’s instructions, patients need only to download and give a prescription request form to their doctor with their name, date of birth, email address, medications needed, and the Cost Plus Drug Company’s ID and telephone numbers. After that, a prescriber can send a prescription electronically or by other means so the company’s partner, TruePill, can fill it. Within 24 hours, patients will then be able to log in to Cost Plus Drug Company’s website and order their medications directly from the site’s portal.

Patients can also utilize the website’s online store to browse for their specific medications, either by category or alphabetically. After ordering, patients can look forward to their cheaper meds arriving at their doorstep within several days.

While the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company is surely going to enhance the health of countless people and give the drug industry the disruption it needs, it’s worth noting that the company is still expanding its library of available medications. At this time, ophthalmic medications are not available. The company recommends interested users should sign up for their newsletter to stay up to date with new additions.
