Nanodropper Promotes Andrew Castle to Account Manager
Meet Andrew Castle. Proud Long Islander. Cooking maestro. World-class singer and performer. Account Manager for Nanodropper. Read on to learn about this man of many talents!
About Andrew
Andrew is considered a modern-day Renaissance Man by some — he’s weaved his curiosity for the world into his educational background, and a variety of industries and positions. Andrew is a prolific chef and recipe maker, an avid performer, and loves to sing.
“My dad is a classically trained chef from the Culinary Institute of America, and my mom is Sicilian,” Andrew said. “Cooking is so big in Italian culture — I grew up with the delicious smell of good things happening.”
As early as his elementary school years, Andrew could be found in the kitchen scrambling eggs, whipping up pancakes, and making dinner for himself and others. He loves making homemade soup from scratch, bolognese, and secret family Italian Christmas cookie recipes for friends, teachers and loved ones.
“I had working parents, and it fostered a lot of independence in me,” he said. “Food is something that binds us all together. It’s one of the oldest human traditions to sit and eat with the people around you. It just feels natural to be connecting with people through food.” The Nanodropper team eagerly awaits the first curated team meal, courtesy of Chef Andrew!
He’s also a seasoned performer, singer, writer, and photographer. These passions led him to the theater and production world — Andrew has served as a commercial production assistant and costume production assistant for a number of different companies and shows, most notably Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, And Just Like That, and The Watcher.
“I did theater all throughout middle school and high school. I still sing very often,” Andrew said. “That really drove me into production, and in my free time I write TV shows and movies. There’s always ideas clicking in my head. I have a lot of unfinished business with the production industry!” Nanodropper documentary coming to theaters in 2027…?
A curiosity about the world around him
Andrew grew up in Wantagh, New York, which is on Long Island. He earned an urban sociology degree from Temple University in 2018 — he says he learned a lot about the different socioeconomic issues occurring in Philadelphia and cities around the world, especially the inequities and challenges facing them today.
“I took a number of courses focused on the environment, and food,” Andrew said. “I learned about food insecurity, protests and movements in modern society, and sociological dynamics across America.”
Andrew heard about Nanodropper from Alena Rainsberry, the company’s Director of Revenue Operations. Nanodropper was looking for a part-time customer support specialist — Andrew was intrigued by the company’s mission and team.
“As a startup company being run by people from our generation, that was super appealing to me,” Andrew said. “I’m excited to be working with such a dynamic team to bring greater health equity to the public.”
After serving as Nanodropper’s Customer Support Specialist for about 4 months, Andrew was recently promoted to Account Manager. He provides first-class customer support for both patients and eyecare professionals, helps onboard new Nanodropper partner clinics, and represents Nanodropper at eyecare conferences across the country.
“My goal since graduating college was to find something that truly matters,” he said. “I love connecting with people from all walks of life who have been brought together by smaller eyedrops!”
